Online Card Games for Two Players: Speed, Cheat or Hold'em?

By eggverse · · 3 min read

Speed illustrated cover with eggs at a fast card table.

Two friends can start three very different card games on eggverse. Choose Speed if you both want to act at once, The Yolk's On You if you want to bluff and challenge card claims, or Texas Hold'em if you want private cards, a shared board and betting decisions using free table chips.

Speed: a card race with no turns

In Speed, both players try to clear twenty cards. Your visible five card hand refills automatically. Play a card one rank above or below the top of either centre pile; Ace connects King and two. Suits do not matter. A friends room has exactly two players, so each of you gets a direct seat.

The Yolk's On You: two friends and one bot

In The Yolk's On You, take turns placing cards face down and claiming a rank. Your friend can call a bluff during the seven second challenge window. With exactly two humans, Benny joins as a third player. Without that extra private hand, a full deck divided between two people would reveal your opponent's cards from your own hand. This is a game with your friend, but it is not an exclusively human two seat table.

Texas Hold'em: a table that unfolds by hand

In Texas Hold'em, each player keeps two private cards and uses the shared board to make a best five card hand. Check, call, raise or fold as the hand develops. Friends tables support two to eight people. Each starts with 500 free table chips, separate from the eggverse wallet. Blinds rise every five hands; winning one pot does not necessarily end the table.

Start with the pace you both want

Open the game preview, use an Invite seat and share the room invitation. Guests ready up before the host starts. Call the first round practice, then ask whether both players liked the pace. If cards are not tonight's mood, Royal Shells is an untimed chess match for two friends.

For detailed rules before you invite anyone, read the Speed guide, Cheat guide or Hold'em guide. If you want chess, try Royal Shells.
