Games to play on Discord with friends, from one link

By eggverse · · 5 min read

Spoiled Egg solo gameplay in wave one: an egg with a pea shooter stands in a pool of light in a dark graveyard as a horde of rotten eggs closes in, with the Mystery Carton chest nearby.

The easiest games to play on Discord with friends are ones that need only a link. Post an eggverse room invitation in your server, get into a voice channel together, and everyone plays in their own browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Nobody installs anything or streams their screen, and each room holds two to eight players.

Discord stays what it is good at: the voice chat, the jokes and the person who swears they were lagging. The game runs separately on each player’s device, so everyone sees the action directly instead of watching one friend’s stream.

Set up the room in four steps

  • Pick a game, open its page and choose Play with friends to create a room.
  • Paste the room invitation into a text channel or your group messages. Anyone who opens it lands in your room. A code works too: on Join a room the EGG- prefix is already filled in, so friends type only the five digits.
  • Talk in a Discord voice channel as usual while the game runs in each person’s browser.
  • Ready up together, and call the first round practice.

Screen sharing is optional. If game sound and voices start fighting, turn the game down or wear headphones; our browser game audio checklist walks through silence and echo one change at a time.

Games that work well in a voice channel

Six games for a Discord voice channel
GamePlayersWhat happensWhy it works on voice
Spoiled Egg2–8Survive waves of rotten eggs on one graveyardConstant callouts about gates, ammo and who is down
Incognitegg2–8Hide in a painted crowd while one player seeksThe seeker thinks out loud; hiders try not to laugh
Crackle Floor2–8Last egg standing on cracking floorsShort rounds, so nobody waits long
Dodge Yolk2–8Red versus blue dodgeball, best of fiveTeams plan catches and rescues together
Yolk Sumo2–8Shove rivals onto a hot skillet rimSixty seconds, then a rematch
Shellbound2–8Defend a relic together through wavesSomeone has to say who is guarding the relic

Spoiled Egg puts the whole crew on one graveyard against waves of rotten eggs. Crack them, earn scraps, and spend them at stations or on opening four new areas; once a gate opens, both the crew and the horde can walk through. A cracked teammate comes back at the next wave if the rest of the crew survives, which gives the person who just went down every reason to keep shouting advice.

The Spoiled Egg preview clip from its game page: an egg crosses a dark graveyard past a row of glowing stations while rotten eggs gather. The clip has no audio.

Incognitegg is hide and seek in a painted market. Hiders get fifteen seconds to find a spot in the crowd, then hold still; the seeker sweeps a magnifying lens over the picture and cracks the egg underneath. Everyone takes a turn seeking, which makes it a natural fit for a server where people take turns being the loudest.

Dodge Yolk preview: red and blue eggs face each other across the centre line of a wooden gym court, with orange yolk balls on the floor and benched players at the side.
The Dodge Yolk preview from its game page: red against blue, with the bench waiting for anyone who gets caught out.

For teams, Dodge Yolk splits the room into red and blue. Grab a yolk ball, hold to charge and release to throw. Catch a throw and the thrower goes to the bench while one of your teammates comes back. Clear the other side to take the round; the match is best of five.

For quick chaos between longer games, Crackle Floor drops tiles a moment after you step on them across three floors over a boiling pot, and Yolk Sumo shrinks the cool middle of a skillet at 20 and 40 seconds while everyone tries to shove everyone else onto the hot rim. If your server prefers working together, Shellbound asks the crew to defend a relic, revive cracked friends by standing beside them, spend Scrap on stronger gear and towers, and choose upgrades between waves.

When more of the server wants in

A voice channel can hold more people than a game room. Each friends room holds up to eight players, so a bigger group splits into two rooms. Give each room its own voice channel so callouts do not cross, and swap a few people between rooms after both games finish.

A simple server game night

Start with Crackle Floor or Yolk Sumo while people trickle in, because a round is short and late arrivals can join the next one. Move to a longer cooperative run of Spoiled Egg or Shellbound once everyone is there. Finish with Incognitegg so every player gets a turn as the seeker, then let whoever is still around pick the rematch.

Quick answers

What games can you play on Discord with friends?

Any browser game with a shareable room works alongside a voice channel. On eggverse, Spoiled Egg, Incognitegg, Crackle Floor, Dodge Yolk and Yolk Sumo each hold two to eight players and start from one link.

Do we need to share a screen on Discord?

No. Each person plays on their own device, so screen sharing is optional.

Can more than eight people from one server play?

Not in a single room. Split into rooms of up to eight and give each room its own voice channel.

Do friends need to download anything?

No. The games run in a web browser on phones, tablets and computers.
