Games like Among Us you can play in a browser

If your group loves Among Us, try Bad Egg on eggverse: a social deduction game for four to eight players that runs in a web browser, so there is no app to install. For two or three friends, or anyone who would rather hide than accuse, Incognitegg is hide and seek in a painted crowd. Both are free, and friends join with a link or a short code.

Among Us is Innersloth’s social deduction game: crewmates work through tasks while hidden impostors try to eliminate them, and the group votes on who to throw out. It is installed as an app. The games below share some of that suspicion and bluffing, but they are their own games with their own rules, so read the short version before your first round.

Bad Egg is the closest match

In Bad Egg, everyone finishes chores around a house while one player is secretly the bad egg, sabotaging the lights and cracking the crew. A cracked egg nearby starts the vote automatically; tap the player you suspect. The crew wins by finishing the chores or voting out the impostor. The impostor wins by outnumbering the crew.

After each vote, every player watches the same short reveal: the voted egg walks out, cracks, and shows whether it was innocent. That moment does a lot of the work a heated argument does, so keep a voice call open for the accusations.

One honest note before you invite people: a Bad Egg friends room needs at least four players and holds up to eight. With two or three of you, pick one of the other games below. Anyone can practice first, though. Solo mode lets you learn either role with five bots, so the newest player can learn the house and the chores before the group is watching.

Incognitegg hides you in plain sight

Incognitegg is Where’s Waldo with eggs. One player seeks; everyone else stands somewhere in a painted page of thousands, as their own egg in a red hat. Only hiders wear the hat, but the page is full of other red: awnings, bunting, balloons. While the seeker’s eyes are shut you have fifteen seconds to find a spot. Then hold still, because the crowd never moves and a creeping egg stands out.

The seeker drags a magnifying lens over the picture, zooms in for detail and cracks the egg under it; a wrong crack rattles the lens for a moment. Each round lasts seventy five seconds, every round is a new page, and everyone takes a turn seeking. Where Among Us asks you to lie with words, this asks you to lie with where you stand. It works from two players, and solo you can practice seeking in markets full of bots.

Bluffing with cards: The Yolk’s On You

If the best part of a vote for you is the lying, try The Yolk’s On You, the card game Cheat. On your turn, play one to four cards face down and claim a rank. Everyone else has three seconds to call the bluff. If any card is wrong, the player takes the whole pile; if every card matches, the caller takes it. It holds two to eight players, and when only two friends play, Benny joins as a third player to keep hands uncertain.

When the group just wants to play

Not every night needs a traitor. These are the party games groups play together most on our site right now: Spoiled Egg for surviving a graveyard together, Crackle Floor for last egg standing on cracking floors, Dodge Yolk for red versus blue dodgeball and Yolk Sumo for shoving eggs off a hot skillet. They make good warm ups while people arrive, and a good reset after a bitter vote.

Get everyone into the same room

Open the game page, choose Play with friends and share the room invitation. Friends open the link, or type the code on Join a room, where the EGG- prefix is already filled in. Ready up together and treat the first round as practice, especially for a deduction game where half the fun is learning what everyone else can see.

Quick answers

Is there a browser game like Among Us?

Bad Egg is a social deduction game for four to eight players that runs in a browser, with chores, a secret impostor, sabotage and votes. It is its own game, not a version of Among Us.

Can we play Bad Egg with fewer than four people?

Not in a friends room; it needs four to eight players. You can practice alone with five bots and learn either role.

What can two or three friends play instead?

Incognitegg and The Yolk’s On You both work from two players. Incognitegg is hide and seek in a crowd; The Yolk’s On You is a bluffing card game.

Do we need to install anything?

No. These games run in a web browser on phones, tablets and computers.
